Christopher Nkunku is linked with Chelsea exit in recent days. This is due to lack of game time and not getting chance in playing at the highest level. Now, some of the football experts have commented on this and they agree with Enzo Maresca on this situation.
Christopher Nkunku to leave Chelsea?
The Frenchman is linked very heavily with an move away from Stamford Bridge. He has not been getting to play in Premier League. In addition, he has to adapt and play as a striker which is not his favoured position. At the moment, PSG and Manchester United are linked with Nkunku. They can secure his signature by offering him regular gametime.
The player may accept to move away from Chelsea as he is still only 26 and will dream to play at highest level regularly. In addition, he is too good to sit on bench as he is currently valued at €65 million by Transfermarkt.
An away move seems to be of best interest for both player and club. But fans will question Maresca about not using Nkunku regularly. Now, some football experts have given their opinion about why the Frenchman will struggle for regular football at Chelsea.
Why Nkunku will struggle for regular game time?
Speaking to talkSPORT’s show, former football player Jason Cundy said that Nkunku will surely be frustrated at the moment. But he added that he can’t make a case for Nkunku being in the team right now.
Later, host Olivia Buzaglo said that Nkunku has fallen down the pecking order way behind. She said that Maresca prefers Cole Palmer and Joao Felix above him for the number 10 position.
Lastly, Matisse Hofer had his say about the current situation for Nkunku in number 9 position. He said that he does not think Nkunku can’t do what Jackson does physically.
As per the football experts, Nkunku is way behind than other players in pecking order. He is very unlikely to play in his preferred number 10 position. Only way he can get some minutes is adapting and playing as number 9 position.
But Chelsea are actively looking to sign a striker next year. This will then diminish all the hopes of Nkunku playing regularly. Hence at the moment, it will be for best interest of both the player and the club to part ways.
