Rennes 1-1 PSG post match analysis :

From the beginning of the game, Rennes led the game. Notably thanks to the first attempt of Jérémy Doku. There were opportunities on both sides of the field. Rennes started to suffer at the end of the first half.

At the 45th minute everything went faster and faster. Firstly, the defender of Rennes Nayef Aguerd got a yellow card. Then just seconds later it was Neymar’s goal that opened the score of the match. The first half ended with Rennes 0-1 PSG.

Back on the field, Pochettino bought out Layvi Kurzawa to bring in Abdou Diallo at the 55th minute. Three minutes later, Ander Herrera received a yellow card.

It was now the turn of Bruno Génésio to bring in Clément Grenier instead, of course, Chimuanya Ugochukwu at the 61st minute. The changes continue to multiply on the side of Paris Saint-Germain. In the same minute Raphael Alcantara and Idrissa Gueye came in for Angel Di Maria and Ander Herrera.

After many efforts Rennes equalized at the 70th minute. A beautiful goal by Serhou Guirassy with the help of Bourigeaud. At the 87th minute, Paris Saint-Germain were handicapped after Presnel Kimpembe’s red card. The yellow cards follow for Reindeer: Romain Del Castillo and Flavien Tait.

Notable performances :

Julian Draxler (7) -Everything he does is simple but terribly effective. He managed some high-level sequences, gestures worthy of the greatest. Still a little soft on his defensive returns, he still made efforts.

Serhou Guirassy (7) – Guirassy made a very nice game in the top. He proved to be a real difficulty for the PSG’s defense. He scored in the 70th minute.

Neymar (6.5) – He is a shadow of his former self. He is too slow and too late in all situations of the game. He scored the penalty for the first goal in the 45th minute. He is better at the end of the game and seems to be the only one to fight to make the difference in the last minutes.

Rennes next face Monaco away on 17th May and Paris Saint-Germain travel to La Mosson to face Montepellier in French Cup semi-final fixture on 12th May.
