The game started like neither team wanted to take risks and they chose a measured approach. Lukaku had a great opportunity from a corner, a rebound ball came into the head of Lukaku but his head brilliantly saved by Pau Lopez. Roma’s defence appealed for offside but he was onside.

Soon after that Lukaku had another great opportunity from a mistake from Roma goalkeeper Lopez but Lukaku’s shot excellently blocked by Chris Smalling.

Roma got the lead from a sweet counter-attack and Pellegrini’s shot deflected into the bottom corner.

Arturo Vidal had a great chance to equalise but he could not keep the ball on target and Lautaro Martinez scored but it was disallowed for offside.

Inter Milan started the second half all guns blazing and should have got the lead from a cross from Lukaku but Martinez was denied by Pau Lopez.

But they didn’t require to wait long for the equaliser an excellent Marcelo Brozovic corner and a towering Milan Skriniar header gave the equalising goal.

Inter didn’t have to wait for their second goal either on the 63rd-minute mark a top drawer quality strike from right-wing-back Achraf Hakim gave them the lead which they thought will be the winner.

But in the end, Roma put pressure on Inter in search of an equaliser and they got it from a set-piece move, on the 86th minute a superb glancing header from Gianluca Mancini gave them the crucial one point.
