Ronaldo tempted to return back to Manchester

Cristiano Ronaldo had another wonderful season. The goal-machine had a goal-filled year at Juventus. The Old Lady however lost their Serie A crown for the first time since 2012. A possible decade of Scudetto turned into a fight for qualification. They just managed to scrape through into Champions’ League qualifications courtesy of Napoli’s final day blunders. In the Champions’ League, Porto knocked them out in the Round of 16.

Ronaldo’s main intention for joining Juventus was the Champions’ League. Juve’s inefficiency to grab hold of the coveted trophy spread many rumours about Ronaldo’s possible departure. The fore-runners to sign him – Manchester United.

Paul Pogba’s continuous linkage with Juventus have fans buzzing about a possible swap deal. Manchester United are on the lookout for a winger and Ronaldo fits right in. Despite fighting a battle against COVID in the middle of the season, the Portuguese bagged 29 goals making him the top-scorer this season.

Juventus are not shying away

Playing for Manchester United between 2003 and 2009, Ronaldo bundled in 118 goals in 292 appearances. His Puskas award winning goal vs Porto, the teasing knuckle-balls and those numerous step-over are what gave the world another legend. He did leave for Real Madrid after that and then to Juventus but he has special place in his heart for Old Trafford.

Juventus have brought back Massimiliano Allegri and it has led to speculations about Ronaldo leaving. Allegri is looking forward for a possible Pogba return. The cards are simply falling in place. It’s now in the hands of the boards of the respective clubs to negotiate a very possible deal.

Manchester are not alone for Ronaldo

While Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid might have caught everyone by surprise, his close-ones are confusing everyone about his future this time. About a month back his mother claimed that Sporting Lisbon would be the next move while his partner claimed that he will stay at Juventus.

PSG are another club that are looking to sign him. Real Madrid showed signs of interest but club President Florentino Perez dismissed those as rumours. Ronaldo has a year left on his contract and Juventus will look make a good sum out of the deal.
