Ruben Neves: Xavi personally contacted the Wolves ace to convince 

Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez has reportedly contacted Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves in order to persuade the midfielder into joining the Camp Nou stadium as per the report in Spanish outlet Sport

Despite struggling with their financial problems. The Blaugrana are still trying to strengthen the squad. Robert Lewandowski is reportedly keen on signing for the Catalan giants. However, a deal cannot be done at the moment due to the club’s economic situation. 

On the other hand, Barcelona has already agreed to sign Chelsea star Andreas Christensen and AC Milan ace Franck Kessie for free. However, the club cannot register them due to the said problem. 

According to the report, Barcelona is eyeing a move for Ruben Neves who is set to leave the Molineux Stadium this summer. The Catalan giants are keen on including the Portuguese into the squad who will take over Sergio Busquets’ spot in the future. 

Xavi has taken the transfer matter into his own hands. And he contacted Portugal international to convince him to join Camp Nou this summer. 

Can Barcelona sign Ruben Neves this summer? 

The 25-year-old is an interesting choice for Barcelona. They are trying to sign him up in order to replace Sergio Busquets. However, he is not technically as good as the Spaniard. 

So, it will be interesting to see how Xavi infuses the midfielder into his squad. And make him Busquets’ replacement. Nevertheless, the Portuguese could be a very good addition to the Barcelona squad. 

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how Barcelona manages to sign Ruben Neves, Robert Lewandowski, and other choices this summer. Given they are currently in a dire situation economically. 

Wolverhampton will certainly ask a fee of around £40 million for their star man. And they will have to pay a transfer fee for Lewandowski as well – who has publicly said he doesn’t want to play for Bayern Munich anymore.
