Robert Lewandowski has been the headline of the transfer window so far. The Polish striker has been forcing a move to Spanish giants Barcelona since the start of the transfer window. But, the green light to leave has not been given by Bayern bosses who are expecting the striker to complete his contract respectfully. The Barcelona-bound man has been wanting a new challenge out of Germany for a while now and saw his opportunity this year.
Bayern enjoyed yet another successful domestic campaign, lifting the Bundesliga and the domestic cup but fell short in the Champions League. Lewandowski’s relationship with the Bayern board has been affected in recent times with the striker not feeling respected and compensated enough for all he had done for the club.
Speaking on his situation, former World Cup winner Rudi Voller has come up to the scene and criticized the 32-year-old for not clearing his needs.
“If Lewandowski stays , he has to make a clear commitment , then its still possible for a year , otherwise it would be difficult “
Voller said in an interview. He also shared his views on the new signing, Sadio Mane saying
” they did it very well and it might be anticipatory in case Lewandowski goes out ”
and also stating Mane as an outstanding player who will thrive in Germany.
Barcelona Submit Bid For Lewandowski
Spanish giants Barcelona reportedly submitted their first bid of €35 million-plus €5 million in adds on to snatching Lewandowski from Bayern. However, the bid was rejected by Bayern who will not entertain any offer less than €50 million for Robert. Barcelona will have to work fast if they want to have the Polish at the Camo Nou this summer as other clubs will also be lurking around trying to lure the Bayern man. Although, Lewandowski had already made it clear that it is only Barcelona he wishes to sign for.
