Sandesh Jhinghan Joins Croatian Top-tier Club HNK Sibenik

Sandesh Jhinghan Joins HNK Sibenik a Croatian Top-tier Club for a year deal. Most importantly he becomes the first Indian to play in Croatian Top-tier League Prva HNL.

Certainly, after completing last season at sixth position HNK Sibenik will surely look to make a strong comeback. However, the Croatian side is currently at the eighth position after their first five games.

The addition of Sandesh Jhinghan will surely help them to achieve more than last season. In addition, Jhinghan recently won the AIFF’S Men’s Player of the year award. Further under his Captaincy last year ATK Mohun Bagan did well and even finished as runners-up.

“We are very happy to have Sandesh Jhingan with us. We expect good things from him as we have followed him on different platforms where we were able to see his past performances. Although we know the adaptation process might take him a few weeks, we are confident that with his quality and leadership, he will become an important member of the team,” – Said Francisco Cardona, CEO of HNK Sibenik.

Additionally on Sunday Jhinghan was seen in the stands at HNK Sibenik’s home game against Hrvatski Dragovoljac.

“He made a very good impression on the staff and fans of the club when he was watching the last home game from the stands. He showed passion and energy for the team,” – Said Francisco Cardona.

Sandesh Jhinghan’s dream comes true

“I think I am at a stage of my career where I really want to test myself in the highest level possible and I think this is the perfect platform for me. As I have said, it has been my desire to play in Europe and I have taken up this challenge”. – Said Jhinghan after signing for HNK Sibenik.

Jhinghan finally achieved his long term dream of playing in Europe after signing for HNK Sibenik.

In addition, he also thanked his former Coach Antonio Habas and his staff during his stint at the ISL outfit ATK Mohun Bagan.

“I have nothing but a big thank you to say to everyone involved at ATK Mohun Bagan. The last year was my comeback from injury and it turned out to be one of my best years. It was all because of my brother-like teammates and coach Antonio Habas, his staff and coach Sanjoy Sen who all motivated me and pushed me to improve every day. I’m thankful for what they all have done for me in this past year.”

To clarify that ATK have finished as runners-up under Jhinghan’s Captaincy last season.

Who are HNK Sibenik

HNK Sibenik was found in 1932 in Croatia. Certainly, they returned to the top-tier of the Croatian League last season and managed to at Sixth. Just two spots below European Competitions.

“We are very happy that Sandesh is with us. We know he will help us achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves during the season. His stint here will help him grow as a player and person,” – said HNK Sibenik coach Mario Rosas.

Having over 168 Appearances at Club level in both ISL and I-League Jhinghan seems to get first-team changes very often at his new club.
