Sassuolo join race for out-of-favour Rafinha from PSG

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Spanish outlet Sport report that Sassuolo have joined the dash to sign PSG’s Rafinha.

Rafinha is being linked with an exit from the Parc de Princes. PSG have stood their ground over the news of a possible sale. The Brazilian has attracted interest from a number of clubs. Premier League club Aston Villa were among the list of interested candidates.

As stated earlier, Sassuolo have now joined in to pursue Rafinha. The Seria A side have shown interest in securing the playmaker.

It is only a matter of time before Sassuolo part ways with their prized ace Manuel Locatelli. Locatelli was scintillating at Euro 2020 and has been a target for many. Juventus are determined to capture the Italian international and are leading the race.

With Locatelli’s departure inevitable, Sassuolo are looking for a suitable replacement. Rafinha has wound up on their radar as a result. If signed, he would take Locatelli’s place in the team.

Rafinha is aggressive both offensively and defensively despite not being commanding in stature. His dribbling and bellicose attitude on the field coupled with his sharp passing skills make him a versatile midfielder.

The Brazil international has two years remaining on his current contract. With PSG willing to offload him, it would be interesting to see what his next destination would be.
