Serie A release dates for the 2023-2024 season

The AC

Serie A released the dates for the commencement of the 2023-2024 season. The league is set to start on August 20. The league will end on the 26th of May. The calendar dates for the next season will start ahead of the usual dates. The dates have heavily depended on the FIFA World Cup. However, the Nations League finals in the summer will play a huge role in clubs planning their start of the season. Most top-tier clubs would usually prefer for the essential players to drop out of the national teams instead of risking themselves.

Serie A’s current league status

The current season of the Italian top-tier league is well underway with all the clubs playing 15 matches. Napoli is currently on top of the league with 41 points of the possible 45. The Naples club has won 13 of the 15 matches while drawing another two. The club is yet to lose a match in the league. Napoli’s rise is due to Luciano Spalletti and his expansive brand of possession-style football. Napoli is fearless in their play, often breaking down opposition deep blocks with ease finding small pockets of space that prove to be fundamental in their chance creating. The creative profile and the roles they inhibit on the pitch also transcend what Luciano wants from his player.

AC Milan’s title defence is not going as per plan. The club is second with 33 points, winning 10 matches, drawing three while losing two. Juventus is third with 31 points, winning nine matches drawing four, and losing two. Both Lazio and Inter Milan are tied with 30 points. However, Lazio is ahead in the fourth position due to their superior goal difference.

The league is currently on standby due to the ongoing mid-season FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
