Sevilla 0-4 Chelsea Analysis:

The first goal came from a counter-attack by Kai Havertz in the 8th minute. He finds Giroud who finishes the goal in style.

Sevilla had many chances but could only have 3 shots on target from 17 shots. Los Nervionenses had Rakitic allowing Idrissi to shoot but going off target. They lacked the clinical finishing.

Giroud then chips the goal past Seville Goalkeeper for his second goal in the 54th minute. Then he completed his hat-trick at the 74th minute receiving N’Golo Kante’s delicious cross.

He even received a penalty in the 83rd minute and converted it with a sublime finish.

Notable Performances:

Olivier Giroud, MOM (10/10): A perfect Champions League night for him. 34-year old Giroud became the oldest Hatrick-hero in the CL since Puskas (38 years) in September 1965. He deserves to be the man of the match. It doesn’t look like him leaving Chelsea any soon!

Edouard Mendy (8/10): He has been brilliant since his debut against Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup. A great save to deny Rekik a goal for Sevilla was a key moment. He has claimed his 9th clean sheet in 12 matches he played.

Antonio Rudiger (8/10): He once again impressed for the Blues. However, the club won’t be looking to let him leave to big clubs like FC Barcelona. He had been rock-solid in the defense.
