Sevilla have Inter Milan’s Alexis Sanchez on their radar

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Alexis Sanchez might be returning back to La Liga next season with Sevilla keeping close watch on him. The Chilean spent three seasons at Barcelona playing second-fiddle to Lionel Messi. Even with limited minutes given, the striker made quite an impact that caught the eyes of many clubs. He moved to Arsenal where he torn down English defences like they were thin air.

His career took a turn for the worst when he signed for Manchester United in 2018. The same player that scored consistently at Arsenal, managed to bag just 5 goals in 45 appearances. Realising that he has to get back to goal-scoring ways, Sanchez went on loan to Inter Milan in the summer of 2019.

Sanchez had made his European debut at Serie A playing for Udinese before Barcelona. He returned to Italy to open a new chapter at Inter Milan. He slowly became a very important member of the team. Even though he has managed to get only 11 goals and 18 assist in 70 appearances, his involvement on the pitch on and off the ball has been vital to Inter’s success.

Sevilla interested in signing Sanchez this summer

Sevilla finished 4th in the La Liga this season. Last season, they signed Ivan Rakatic from Barcelona to strengthen their midfield. Upfront, they scored 53 goals, a number far away from the top 3. Signing an established may be the perfect move.

Sanchez is currently on International duty for Chile. His International record has been phenomenal. He led his national team to 2 Copa America title wins. His cheeky panenka in the last penalty of the shoot-outs in the final showed the amount of class that oozed out of him.

Inter on the back foot

Inter Milan won the Scudetto foe the first time since 2010. However the pandemic has forced the club to take drastic changes to the squad for next season. Antonio Conte was the first to leave. Inter have claimed that it needs to cut it’s costs to stay stable.

Romelu Lukaku announced that he would be staying at the club. Inter are planning to ask £7 million for Sanchez but Sevilla are likely get the price down. Sanchez might be playing at a stadium that bears his name this season.
