Sevilla signed Arsenal star Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan this summer. The deal is working out very well for Spanish side and hence they are now plotting a similar move for another Arsenal star in january.
Gunners have now sent Lokonga on loan for the third time. The Belgian star is now a key player for Sevilla in midfield. He has played 7 La Liga matches and started 5 of those.
The 25 year old has impressed in those games and has also picked an assit in process. Sevilla are now planning to sign Lokonga permanently next summer. Along with him, the Spanish side now wants to sign another Arsenal player on loan.
Sevilla plotting a move for Arsenal defender
According to Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla are planning to sign Jakub Kiwior on loan. The Polish defender is having hard time at North London right now. He is far away from getting regular game time.
Kiwior has fallen down the pecking order. Mikel Arteta prefers Gabriel, Saliba and even White, Calafiori and Timber over him for the central defender role. Hence a move away from the Emirates is very possible next year.
Sevilla may sign him on loan in january and monitor his impact for the half season. They may then make a permanent move for Polish defender but will have to meet the expectations of Gunners.
Arsenal are still unwilling to let Kiwior go as they want sufficient squad depth. Mikel Arteta views him as a great backup if any of the current starters are injured. Hence, they will like to keep Kiwior and demand fair price before parting ways.
Along with Sevilla, several other clubs are keen to sign the Polish defender. Many of those are from Italy where Kiwior used to play before joining Gunners.
He has played only 7 games this season but has only started in 2 of them. Plus, he is yet to start any Premier League game so far this season. Hence, as of now a move away looks very likely to happen.
