Both the teams will have to deliver as they ended the previous year with a draw. Liverpool will be disappointed as they dropped points two games in a row after they were held both times. Misery mounts Liverpool as yet another one of their players got injured. Joel Matip will be missing 3 weeks due to a groin injury. Jurgen Klopp will have to tweak his team in order to get a favourable result.

The Saints will be hoping to take advantage of their opponent’s defensive weakness by pressing higher.
Jurgen Klopp will definitely have to make changes. Joel Matip’s injury means Nat Phillips will be starting.
On the positive side, Thiago Alcantara’ return will be a huge boost for them. He was sidelined for more than 2 months after getting injured. Xherdan Shaqiri has also returned after his injury spell and will bolster his team. The vicious front three will be hoping to continue their goal-scoring streak.
