Spurs reunion a possibility if Eriksen Brentford stint results in success

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Christian Eriksen signed for Brentford on deadline day. The Danish midfielder returned to the Premier League after 2 seasons in Serie A. However, he has been out of action for over 7 months due to a cardiovascular ailment. Moreover, Spurs are keeping tabs on Eriksen’s situation at Brentford.

Christian Eriksen fainted on the pitch in a UEFA EURO 2020 match and had to be given CPR on the field. Since then, Eriksen has been out of action. He now has a heart defibrillator inserted in his body as a precaution. As a result, Inter Milan had no option but to release Eriksen from his contract. The rules in Italy don’t allow the players to compete at the highest level with a heart condition.

Eriksen situation and a possible move to Spurs

Christian Eriksen has only signed a 6-month contract with Brentford. The Danish midfielder recently spoke out for the first time about his return. Christian Eriksen said joining Brentford offers him the opportunity to return to normal life.

Meanwhile, his former boss Antonio Conte did not rule out the possibility of a reunion at Spurs in the summer. He stated that Eriksen is a part of Tottenham’s story and it is a good opportunity for the club to bring him back if his Brentford stint turns out to be successful.

The two broke Juventus’ streak of winning the Serie A, by winning the title last season. Conte also stated his elation about the return of Christian Eriksen.

A return to Spurs will certainly be a good deal for both parties if Eriksen can reach the levels he has reached before. Meanwhile, Brentford will try and extort his playmaking skills in their shrewd system under Thomas Frank. Ivan Toney, their prolific striker will be delighted with the signing as he will get world-class service in the form of Eriksen’s deliveries. If Eriksen does, reach the levels he has before, the signing will definitely be a coup for the club.
