Squad Rotation not expected for Milan Derby

Pioli

City and Seria A table neighbors, AC Milan and Inter Milan are meeting next week for the Supercoppa Italiana Clash. However, squad rotation is not expected for the Milan Derby for Stefan Pioli’s men.

According to the Roman newspaper Corriero dello Sport, the Rossoneri squad are plagued with injuries in their best-choice eleven. The Diavolo have nine players unavailable.

The manager is not looking to make any changes to the starting eleven for the match against their city rivals.

Amongst the closest to return are Simon Kjaer, Junior Messias, and Divock Origi. Despite being on course for a return soon, they are highly unlikely to feature in the clash on the 18th.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is eyeing a return directly to Champions League action against Tottenham on February 14th. Ante Rebic will also miss the Supercoppa Italia due to his injury.

It would be interesting to see what tactics Pioli comes up with since most of the squad has been decided due to a lack of available options.
