The last week of summer transfer window has already started. Chelsea have had another big window and have signed a total of 11 players. Only one of those eleven came on a free transfer. The Blues were constantly on the red zone to breach the Premier League PSR rules. This did not seem to affect them in the window. Joao Felix is the most recent addition to the London side. He became the 36th signing since Todd Boehly took over. Chelsea paid £43 million for Felix and may not have done yet as they are still looking for another striker.
Chelsea signed Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer. Later they signed Estevao for £29 million and Omari Kellyman for £19 million. Marc Guiu who is another striker joined Chelsea for £5.2 million from Barcelona and is their cheapest signing this summer. Later, Chelsea spent big again on Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen and Pedro Neto. Dewsbury-Hall costed £30 million and Jorgensen costed £21 million. Neto is the most expensive signing this summer for Chelsea at £52 million. Renato Viega, Aaron Anselmino and Caleb Willy have also joined Chelsea. Their price is around £35 million when combined. They may not yet be done as signing a striker is still their plan this summer. Here are some of the options available for Chelsea in that position.
Chelsea linked with an English striker
Victor Osimhen is the main target for Chelsea this summer. However, the Nigerian striker is very expensive and it may prove very hard for Chelsea. In addition, Osimhen has never played in England before. In contrast, there is one English striker who is looking for a new club. His name is Ivan Toney who is very close to Brentford exit.
Toney could cost Chelsea around £45 million which is less than half of what Osimhen will cost. In addition, he has already proved his worth in the Premier League itself. It is reported that Toney is linked with a move to Saudi side. However, the striker is only 28 years old and hence can move to Chelsea as it will help him retain his place in the England national team.
Jonathan David of Lille
Jonathan David is another option available for Chelsea. David currently plays for Lille and has been superb in the recent seasons. He is only 24 years old and already has more than 150 goals for both club and country combined. He has been able to score 26 goals in each of the last two seasons. David could not cost Chelsea as much as Osimhen for sure. In addition, he is in the final year of his current contract which can help Chelsea in getting him on discounted price. His current market value is €50 million according to Transfermarkt.
Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord
Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez can be another suitable option for Chelsea. Gimenez is 23 years old and has very good past two season. Last season he scored 26 goals and provided 8 assists for Feyenoord in 41 matches. Even if Chelsea do not sign him, Gimenez could be still seen in the Premier League this season. Nottingham Forest are interested to sign him and have even submitted a bid of £21 million earlier. However, it was rejected by Feyenoord but can still receive another improved bid very soon.
Young turkish striker is suitable option for Chelsea
Chelsea are looking to sign young players and make their future secure. Semih Kilicsoy who is only 19 years old can be the next Chelsea superstar. Semih currently plays for Besiktas and was able to find the back of the net 12 times last season. He was part of the Turkey squad in the Euro 2024. Kilicsoy was also being linked to Arsenal and Manchester City at some point in the transfer market.
