Subash Singh was as clinical as ever, netting 3 times, as FC Bengaluru United (FCBU) thrash ASC & Centre FC 8-0. With this very convincing victory, the defending champions got their campaign off to a strong start.
The second division I-League club had an upsetting run in the I-League Qualifiers recently. However, against ASC they showed a completely different side.
By the break, FCBU were already 3-0 up thanks to a brace from the Slovenian, Luka Majcen. It was in the second half that the flood gates burst open. Adding to the rout was Subash Singh who netted 3 times in a row.
Others who got on the scoresheet for FCBU were Bedashwor Singh, Ronaldo Antonio and Aenam Jurwa.
Elsewhere, in another match, Bangalore Eagles FC were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Jawahar Union FC. The first half was bleak, with either not able to find the net.
But after even first half, it was the Eagles who took the lead. Cletus Paul got himself on the scoresheet in the 59th minute. The lead did not last very last long though. Siyadul Askar made the most of his chance and brought Union back on level terms 19 minutes later.
