Swansea City 1-3 Manchester City post-match analysis:

Unsurprisingly Manchester City dominated the game and possession of the ball but they played very slowly and they were not clinical enough. even though City had few good moments inside the Swansea box.

Kyle Walker scored a scrappy goal to open the account in the first half. Walker’s cross was missed by everyone inside the six yards box and straight into the back of the net, the Swansea goalkeeper remained stranded and could not react to this situation.

Swansea had a good opportunity just after they conceded the goal, a delicious cross from the right headed wide by midfielder Jay Fulton.

In the second half, it was all about Guardiola’s side. They scored the second goal very early in the second half from Rodrigo Hernandez’s defence-splitting pass, a very easy finish for Sterling.

They did not require to wait for the third goal, Bernardo Silva’s headed cut back excellently took down by Jesus and his swivelling volley went back of the net.

The Cityzens had numerous opportunities to wider the margin but they were not at their best in this game in front of the goal.

In the end, Swansea managed to score one back from Morgan Whittaker but it was too little, too late for them to come back into the game.

Notable performances:

Rodrigo Hernandez(CDM) – (8/10)(Manchester City): He was terrific in this game and also assisted the second goal. His passing in the middle of the park was immaculate.

Gabriel Jesus(CF) – (7/10)(Manchester City): Scored the third goal and he could have scored more if he could place himself in the right area in the box.

Raheem Sterling(LW) – (7/10)(Manchester City): Scored the second goal and he played very good and. He was taken off pretty early after the game was done at the early stages of the second half.

Swansea will play next away to Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship on 13th February and Manchester City will play against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on the same day.
