INDIAN NAVY FOOTBALL TEAM

The Indian Navy Football Team is the football team of the Indian Navy. Services Sports Control Board Indian Navy founded the club in 1952. Moreover, it competes in the Services Football Championship, which is the top tier of football for the Indian Armed Forces.

History

The Indian Navy Football Team has won the Services Football Championship a record 16 times. Meanwhile, the team has also won the Durand Cup on three occasions. Moreover, they have also won the Nadkarni Cup on two occasions.

They have also participated in international competitions. Meanwhile, they have played in the AFC President’s Cup on two occasions. Moreover, the team reached the semifinals of the AFC President’s Cup in 2007.

Format

This team is a professional football team that competes in the Services Football Championship.  The team is also a member of the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

The Services Football Championship is a round-robin tournament with six teams competing. The top two teams at the end of the round-robin stage qualify for the final.
