Talks held between Gunners and Portugese prodigy

Arsenal have reported to have held talks with 17 years old Geovany Quenda. The Portugese prodigy is looked upon by almost all Premier League top clubs. He has also displayed his high quality against Man City recently.

Geovany Quenda is a hot topic of interest in the world football right now. Despite being only 17 years old, he has already been a key player for Sporting CP. He mainly plays as right midfielder but can play in upper part of field too.

Quenda has been very good since the start of this season. He has played 17 matches this season and scored twice along with picking one assist. His recent display against English champions in UCL is enough to show his worth.

Quenda played 85 minutes and helped Sporting to defeat the mighty Man City. He picked 1 assist, created 1 big chance and had 1 shot too. Quenda then had 4 passes in final third along with 2 accurate long balls. Lastly, the young gem made 1 interception, 4 recoveries and won 5/7 duels displaying his all around ability.

Arsenal are front runners in the race for Quenda

Arsenal, Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea are all keen to sign the 17 year old wonderkid. But now it seems like Arsenal have the lead in the race. As per TEAMtalk, Gunners have held talks with the representatives of Geovany Quenda.

Gunners have felt a need to improve their attack this season. Quenda can improve while playing as a backup for Saka and later claiming his spot as regular starter. He can also play in a different position straight away and increase competition in the squad.

On the other hand, Sporting are not clear as of yet about selling Quenda. It may require a huge amount to lure the young star away from Portugese champions. But it will also depend if the player is interested as he might not get regular game time at a top club.
