The future of Simone  Inzaghi at Inter depends on Champions League

Auxerre

Simone Inzaghi ‘s time at Inter appears to be running out. If the squad doesn’t make an incredible run to the semifinals of the Champions League, he’ll probably lose his job before the summer.
Moreover, Whether or not the Nerazzurri are able to make it into the Champions League next season will also determine Simone Inzaghi ‘s future at Inter Milan.

Simone Inzaghi ‘s future is shrouded in uncertainty

Recent rumours claim that Inzaghi “needs a miracle” in Europe if he wants to  stay at San Siro for the  upcoming season. If he doesn’t make it into the league,  he will be fired.

With just one win in their last five league outings, current form doesn’t make for good reading for Nerazzurri supporters. Inter currently sits in the top four of the  Serie A standings,  but their position is far from assured. The Nerazzurri’s chances of making to the Champions League could be bleak if they continue to produce outcomes like the recent defeats to Bologna and Spezia.

According to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport,  via FCInterNews-

“The 46-year old will almost certainly leave his position if the Nerazzurri  fail to qualify for  Europe’s top club competition next season.”

So far this season, Inter’s league performance has fallen significantly short of expectations. Much of the burden has been placed at the coach’s feet. As things now stand, Inzaghi’s future at Inter is completely uncertain. With the Nerazzurri coach having the chance to reclaim control of the season’s final stretch. While also knowing that if things go wrong, he will not be at the club next season.

With that in mind, here is a list of names being considered to inherit Inzaghi’s position according to Gazzetta dello Sport

FOUR POTENTIAL COACHES IN LINE TO REPLACE INZAGHI AT INTER

Roberto De Zerbi

The current Brighton coach, Roberto De Zerbi, surpasses expectations on the English south coast since taking over from Graham Potter in September. Dario Baccin, Inter’s assistant sporting director, knows De Zerbi from their time together at Palermo. He has already made contact with the ex-Sassuolo coach before ultimately appointing Antonio Conte in 2019. De Zerbi is under contract with Brighton until the summer of 2026. Thus the Nerazzurri will very certainly have to pay a large compensation price. They may compete with Premier League Tottenham Hotspur to keep him.

Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte’s contract with Tottenham was mutually terminated last Sunday evening.  He is already being connected to some of the top posts in Italy. The 53-year-old is a tried-and true choice, and Inter already understands the risks involved in reappointing the manager  who led the team to its first Scudetto in 11 seasons at the conclusion of 2020–21. Would Inter and Conte be willing to put their issues, which caused the coach’s exit from  the Nerazzurri  two years ago, behind them? For instance,It is difficult to imagine Inter continuing to spend in this way  given that they already had to pay Conte a  settlement of €14.5 million.

Thiago Motta

Thiago Motta has just over a year remaining on his current deal with Bologna. He maybe one of the more reasonably priced choices on the market. The promising 40-year-old has made an impression during his time with Bologna. Bologna are now seventh in the Serie A standings. When Motta eventually decides to leave the dall’Ara. It appears that he will move up to a “big club”. A transfer to Inter could be advantageous for both parties.

Diego Simeone

The “fantasy” choice, as per Gazzetta,Simeone has long been a fan of Inter. He has never been shy about expressing interest in managing at San Siro. His success in Europe while playing for Atletico Madrid has been outstanding. His defensive strength would be an asset to Inter. Most importantly, “El Cholo” has established a track record of success in Spain.

Simeone’s contract expires in 2024.However, He is now one of the most paid  football  coaches in the world, earning over €22 million annually. A tough pill for any team on the planet to swallow.
