Manchester United could be finally parting ways with Erik Ten Hag. As per manchestereveningnews, INEOS want Thomas Tuchel to replace the Dutchman. The 54-year-old’s future was in doubt this summer due to a series of poor performances last season. The Red Devils finished 8th in the Premier League. To make things worse, they did not even qualify from the UCL group stage. However, Ten Hag managed to win the FA Cup by beating Man City in the final days of the season. As a result, after a long amount of speculation, he was finally given another chance. At the same time, the Red Devils extended his contract until 2026. But, his job is under scrutiny once again.
Erik Ten Hag out?
It has been another exceptionally poor start for Man Utd this season. The Red Devils may now need Thomas Tuchel more than ever. They currently sit at 14th in the league table. At the same time, they have won merely 2 of their games. Also, they have a goal difference of -8. Their results in Europe aren’t any better either. Ten Hag’s men have drawn both of their two group stage games. If this run-of-form continues, Manchester United will be fighting the relegation battle very soon.
Should Man Utd hire Thomas Tuchel?
Yes, Ten Hag may have delivered 2 trophies in 2 season for Man Utd. But, his results in the league are below par. At the same time, the football they are playing is so unconvincing. Also, they are very inconsistent. He may not have had the greatest of squads to begin with. But, INEOS even helped him sign a number of top players this summer. They bought Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Noussair Mazaroui, Matthijs De Ligt and Manuel Ugarte too. But, still it feels like nothing has changed. It’s high time to realize that Ten Hag may actually be the problem. Thomas Tuchel is a UCL winner with Chelsea. At the same time, he expressed his interest of working in England again. So, he could be a great choice for the Red Devils.
