Several players have entered the final six months of their current contract. And they are likely to leave the club for free, given the uncertainty surrounding the Blues at the moment and a few other players’ contracts will end at the end of next season.

If Chelsea’s ownership does not change hands anytime soon then many players will be looking to find their future away from Stamford Bridge. And one of them is Jorginho whose current contract will expire in June 2023 and should the situation persist then he might be looking to leave the club.

On the other hand, if the ownership situation clears up at the end of this season then Chelsea might want to cash in on some of their stars. And the Italian international could be a perfect candidate to generate some transfer fee. He has entered his 30s and the Blues board might not want to extend the midfielder’s contract with a salary hike. Therefore, parting ways could be the right decision for both sides.

3 talents who could be perfect for Chelsea FC to replace Jorginho:

Billy Gilmour:

The youngster ranked up through the Blues academy and made a great impression under the former manager Frank Lampard. However, he has been sent out on loan to the fellow Premier League club Norwich City this season in order to play regular first-team football.

The Scotsman has made 18 appearances in the Premier League, notching up a solitary assist. The 20-year-old has displayed glimpses of his talent at Carrow Road. And he could be an apt option to replace Jorginho, given the youngster’s efficiency of distributing the ball.

With Chelsea’s future looking unclear, the Blues boss Thomas Tuchel might have to rely on the youngsters from the academy and Gilmour will be ready enough to play regularly following a productive loan spell.

Aurelien Tchouameni:

Chelsea are keeping tabs on the Frenchman’s development and they could make a move for the Monaco man if Jorginho leaves the club and the ownership changes hands.

The 22-year-old is an all-around midfielder who can play anywhere across the middle of the park. He could bring dynamism in midfield which the Italian international lacked in his arsenal.

The former Bordeaux man has made 26 appearances in Ligue 1 this season, scoring a solitary goal and assisting as many times. Tchouameni is expected to be in the market in the summer and Chelsea could be an option for the Frenchman.

Declan Rice:

The West Ham United midfielder has expressed his desire to play in the Champions League. And he could leave the Hammers at the end of this season. If they fail to secure a place in Europe’s elite club competition.

The Englishman is also a boyhood Chelsea FC fan and he is reportedly excited about the prospect of playing for the Blues alongside his best mate Mason Mount. So, the Blues are in pole position to secure a deal for the 23-year-old if he leaves the London stadium.

The midfielder has improved his traits going forward this season, scoring a solitary goal and notching up four assists in 27 Premier League appearances. However, his price tag could be a stumbling block in this deal. The Hammers have slapped a £100 million price tag on their star man. And it will be interesting to see if the Blues hierarchy will want to break their bank or not for the England International.

However, everything will be dependent on what will happen with the club’s ownership. If a quick solution cannot be found then Chelsea will be in big trouble.
