The young Manchester United star was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend and making death threats to her. However, no certain evidence has come forward, and Mason resumed his playing career last season.
However, Manchester United believes that it would not be safe for him to play directly in England. They sent him to Spain to play for Getafe because English fans are believed to be very hostile, and they might make unholy comments. The United management believes that having him play somewhere else will reduce the heat. Mason’s playing in Spain will help him regain some form before they can make a proper decision.
