Tottenham Hotspur are considering 26 year old Chelsea star as backup. They can make move for the Blues star if their preferred move fails.
Spurs are keen to sign defender before the transfer window closes on 3rd February. They have been hit with a major blow as Radu Dragusin has suffered serious injury. He can miss most of this season and both club and player are waiting for know the seriousness of the injury.
Spurs have agreed deal with AC Milan over the transfer for Fikayo Tomori. However, it is still unclear wheter the player is ready to switch sides in the middle of the season. Spurs are sensing doubts over the situation and hence are prepared to keep a backup.

According to The Telegraph, Spurs are looking at Axel Disasi as backup if their deal for Tomori fails. The Blues are ready to part ways with Disasi but there is no response yet from player regarding the Tottenham links.
Disasi is heavily linked with move to Aston Villa. He had talks with Unai Emery to discuss the deal and has also agreed the personal terms with Villa. In addition, Villa will provide Disasi with Champions League football which Spurs lack.
Chelsea are ready to sanction a loan for Disasi if the interested club agrees to install an obligation to buy clause. They are also open for a paid loan. Lastly, the will also consider permanent sale for a fair price tag.
As for Disasi, he is open to move away from Stamford Bridge as he is way behind in pecking order. He needs to have a strong second half of the season in order to attract top clubs as he will very likely be sold in summer. Along with Disasi, Trevoh Chalobah is also going to be sold by the West London club.
