Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur have bolstered their squad by acquiring Juventus duo Bentancur and Kulusevski. The Whites have a different-looking midfield under new gaffer Antonio Conte.

Rodrigo Bentancur joins Spurs on a permanent deal, spanning four-and-a-half years subject to international clearance and a work permit. Tottenham incurred an initial cost of €19,000,000 with €6,000,000 in add-ons.

The 24-year-old to Uruguay in preparation for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier against Venezuela. He offers Conte a solid option in central midfield and must compete with Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, and Harry Winks.

Dejan Kulusevski, on the other hand, signs for the Lilywhites on an 18-month loan. Spurs paid a reported £8,300,000 with an option to buy for around £29,200,000, provided that specific sporting criteria are fulfilled.

The 21-year-old Swede has been hailed as an upcoming talent. He displays an impressive work ethic and is highly versatile, capable of playing across the line behind the striker. Earlier, Kulusevski made the move to Juventus from Atlanta for €35,000,000 in January 2020.

Spurs made the move for Kulusevski when they were unsuccessful by Liverpool in the race for Luis Diaz. Conte had been eyeing the Colombian but the midfielder preferred a move to Anfield.

Major exits from the Tottenham Hotspur stadium after signing Bentancur and Kulusevski

Since taking charge in November 2021, Conte carefully evaluated the squad he inherited. The conclusion – he opted for a reshape. Spurs’ most expensive signings – Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso – were both moved on.

Ndombele returns to his former side club Lyon while Lo Celso joined Villarreal. Both players have been sent on loan until the season’s end.

Youngster Bryan Gil makes a trip to Spain, signing a loan deal with Valencia for the second half of the season. Just 6 months prior the 20-year-old signed from Sevilla for £21,600,000.

The deal witnessed Spurs attacker Érik Lamela move in the opposite direction. Gil has not yet started a game in the Premier League and mostly features as a late substitute.

In another deal, marksman Dele Alli also departed the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. The Englishman was not able to impress his new boss since the switch from Nuno Espírito Santo.

Everton have surprisingly chosen to acquire Alli’s signature. They sign him on a free with the condition to pay £10,000,000 on him completing 20 appearances in blue. However, add-ons can hike the fee to around £30,000,000.
