Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Real Madrid defender Eder Militao in the January transfer window
Real Madrid signed the 22-year-old Brazilian in 2019 for a fee of € 50 million from Porto, his signing was a prominent one as Madrid needed another defender amongst their rank.
However, since his debut, he has made 20 appearances across all competitions and this season he has played only 3 matches which have fueled speculations that he might be on the move as he is not a favorite to start under manager Zinedine Zidane anymore.
The Brazilian has come down the ranks as he isn’t putting up solid performances whenever he gets chances. Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Nacho are well ahead in centre-back position and Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola ahead in the right-back position at Bernabeu. Therefore La Liga would look forward to offloading him in the coming transfer window.
Tottenham leading the race to sign Madrid outcast Militao?
According to a Dailymail report, Tottenham are interested in signing Madrid outcast Militao in the coming transfer window.
Tottenham are currently 4th in the Premier League and they have the second-best defense in the Premier League after Manchester City where they have conceded 11 goals in 16 matches.
However Tottenham are looking to sign another young center back as they want to improve their defensive arsenal and they would look to have more options of center backs which they can choose from,
Therefore they have chosen to pursue signing Militao as he would be a good defensive fit for them and because of his versatility he can also be deployed as a right-back or defensive midfielder.
Madrid would look to raise funds in the coming months as they plan on making major signings in the summer therefore they will look to offload Militao as a way of raising funds.
Hence a transfer to Tottenham could be on the cards and a move can be finalized when both teams open talks regarding Militao’s transfer.
