Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in Chelsea star ahead of summer window. The player is currently away from England on loan. The Blues can sanction his sale as they are keen to sign new players in his position.
Spurs are willing to improve their squad this summer. They can be seen making some key changes after a very hard season. Many of the current stars are set to leave and new faces are expected. In addition, there can also be a change in management.
Tottenham showing interest in Chelsea defender
One position which Spurs are surely going to improve is defensive area. They are set to sign some key defenders in order to strengthen their backline. According to TBR Football, they are showing interest in Renato Veiga.
Veiga joined the Blues for £12 million last summer. He played 18 games for Chelsea but started in only few of them. As a result, he opted to move away on loan in January. He joined Juventus where he was offered a chance to play in his preferred centre-back position.
Chelsea can opt to sell Veiga permanently this summer. They are keen to bring in new defenders and hence will need to raise funds. In addition, these sales will also help the club in opening up space and also to comply with PSR.
Veiga can be a great addition to the Spurs squad. He is only 21 years old and hence will be looked upon as long-term investment. He can play as centre-back, left-back, right-back and even as a holding midfielder.
As for Chelsea, they are focused to bring back Marc Guehi to Stamford Bridge. In addition, they are also trying hard to land Dean Huijsen. Selling players like Veiga who have limited game-time will help the club vastly in signing new players.
