Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanić. Spurs have enquired about taking the 31-year-old on a loan deal this transfer window. Pjanić joined Barcelona only last summer for a transfer fee of €60,000,000, plus a maximum of €5,000,000 in bonuses
The Bosnia-Herzegovina international has not been able to make an impact at Camp Nou. Playing 19 games and starting 12, he has failed to register a goal or an assist.
Looking to cut on the wage bill, the Spanish giants are willing to let Pjanić go on a free transfer as he is on the list of players they want to offload.
The capture of the midfielder would be the first step in an overhaul under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo. Tottenham football director Fabio Paratici is keen to reunite with Pjanić, who played under Paratici during his time at Juventus.
In that time, the Bosnian made 178 appearances for the Italian giants, netting 22 goals, registering 41 assists and adding four Serie A titles with two Coppa Italia trophies to his cabinet.
