Udinese and Watford are interested in Rennes’ youngster

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Udinese and Watford are reportedly monitoring the situation of Stade Rennais’ young full-back Brandon Soppy, as per the report in TRANSFERmarketWEB

The 19-year-old made his senior debut last season with the Ligue 1 outfit. He made only 10 appearances with half of those being off the bench.

According to the Italian outlet, Udinese and Watford, two clubs with the same owners Pozzo family are observing the youngster’s development. Apart from them, the French side Stade Reims have also shown interest in the right-back.

Soppy could be available as little as €2 million in this summer transfer window. However, no agreement has been reached yet with Rennais about the defender, with only one year remaining in his current contract.

Udinese and Watford observing Rennes’ young full-back:

The youngster is quick and excellent in dribbling as well. However, as a full-back, he will need to work on his crossing abilities and heading efficiency. The youngster could be a very good buy for either Udinese or Watford. However, he will need time to develop. So, the right-back will be a player for the future.

Watford will be a better destination for the youngster rather than Udinese. He is very good at defending, however, going forward he needs improvement in his ability. So, playing in the back four is the right formation than in the wing-back position. So, the Premier League side could be the right club for the youngster.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 19-year-old. Despite the interest from the other clubs, the best decision for him will be to stay at Stade Rennais. The youngster will get much more opportunities with the Ligue 1 side which will help him to develop as a mature player.
