After the conclusion of Euro 2020, the new season’s first international break is taking place. Most of the teams will play three matches. Some of them will play one friendly fixture out of three and some of them will play all three in the UEFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

There are 55 nations participating in this qualifying round and they are spread across ten groups. Finishing first from every group will automatically qualify for the World Cup 2022. The second-placed teams will play a playoff round with the top two teams from UEFA Nations League.
