Unhappy Chelsea star considered by 2 European heavyweights

One Chelsea superstar is being looked upon by 2 European heavyweights for January swoop. The questioned star is open to move but the Blues are willing to keep him at West London.

The star in question here is Christopher Nkunku who joined Chelsea in 2023. The 27 year old was extremely unlucky in his first season with the Blues. Due to constant injuries he played only 14 games last season.

This season Nkunku has been superb but is not being used as regular starter. In addition, he is forced to play as striker which is not his preferred position. The France international has done very well but still is way behind in pecking order.

The 27 year old has scored 12 goals and picked 4 assists in 27 games so far. Despite playing in 18 Premier League games, he was starter in only 3 of those. This is forcing him to ask for a move away from Stamford Bridge this month.

Nkunku was previously linked heavily with Man United. The Red Devils can still make a move for him as Rashford is closing in on exit. But, United are now joined by 2 European giants.

According to Grame Bailey, Nkunku is being looked upon by Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich. Both of these clubs are capable of spending big on the 27 year old to lure him away from West London.

Both Bayern and Atletico are in Champions League and hence can find it easy to convince the player to join them. Nkunku can opt to join them as he can get into starting lineup regularly.

Lastly, the Blues still consider the player a key asset if the club. Nkunku has been one of the top scorers for Chelsea this season. In addition, Maresca has benefitted highly from the player’s versatality on the pitch. However, they still have to sell him if the player forces the move.
