Manchester United have been very busy since the opening of transfer market. Sir Jim Ratcliffe who took over as new co-owner in february is determined to make the Red Devils a great club again. The club is expecting improvement in various departments. Several changes to the board have already been made and now the fans are hoping to welcome the new players. Along with new comings the club is expected to part ways with some of the existing stars. United now are in the process of taking some bold decisions regarding their midfield department.
United want to sign center back, left back, midfielder, right winger and striker. Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs De Ligt ans Manuel Ugarte are reported very close to arrive at Old Trafford. Dan Ashworth was reported to be willing to part ways with seven existing stars. One of the name amongst them is Casemiro. Along with the brazilian international, United now have made a big decision regarding Bruno Fernandes.
United expecting change in midfield unit
Kobbie Mainoo has emerged as a wonderful talent of Erik Ten Hag’s side. On the other hand Casemiro has been very poor considering the level he was at Real Madrid. United are reported to part ways with the brazilian international this summer. Casemiro’s agent is working on finding potential new offers for the midfielder. In addition to Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes who had another great season with the Red Devils may also be on his way away from Old Trafford.
United have been heavily linked with Manuel Ugarte who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain. Along with Ugarte, United are also interested in Joao Neves, however his price is proving too high for the Premier League side. Benfica have made it clear that the only way to sign Neves is by triggering his £120 million clause.
Fernandes linked with Saudi clubs
Bruno Fernandes has been target for the Saudi clubs since last year. However the Portugese revealed last summer that he is happy at United and will like to stay there. The talks about Saudi clubs have emerged once again, and according to TEAMtalk, United will not come in the Portugese international’s way if he wants to join team. Currently two Saudi clubs, both owner by public investment fund (PIF) have been linked with Fernandes.
Al Nassar and Al Ittihad are the two clubs interested in achieving the services of 29 year old midfielder. In addition, it has also been reported that Fernandes met the two clubs a few weeks ago. Both the clubs have explained their plans and discussed the midfielder’s role in the future. Moreover, its also been revealed that Al Nassar are currently leading the race and may reunite Fernandes with his portugese international teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Fernandes has been the best player for United in midfield ever since he joined. In the 2023/24 season, the portugese was once again superb as he scored 15 goals along with providing 13 assists in the 48 appearances he made across all competitions. The Red Devils will surely don’t want to lose a hig quality player like him. However the offer made by Saudi clubs is impossible for United to match and hence may have to lose him in the upcoming weeks. Bruno’s departure will definately leave a void in Ten Hag’s midfield.
Casemiro desires to stay at Old Trafford
Casemiro has not been at his best ever since his arrival to Old Trafford. The brazilian international eventually fell out of Ten Hag’s favour and was set to leave this summer. It was reported that the player could be on his way to Saudi this summer. However according to recent reports, Casemiro desires to stay at United and prove himself in midfield.
Casemiro wants to prove himself in England and hence opted to stay at the club. He has also apologized for last season and wants to redeem himself. In addition, Ten Hag is reported to be happy with Casemiro staying. The brazilian’s stay may also help Kobbie Mainoo evolve under his wing.
