Manchester United did some really good business in the transfer market this summer. They got some big names added to their squad. One of them was Leny Yoro who has now endangered the future of Arsenal by signing for United.
Yoro joined United this summer for an initial fee of around £52 million and further add-ons. He was then very unlucky as he faced injury in the pre-season. This has kept him out and he has been unable to make his official debut.
Yoro has undergone a surgery and is making good progress. His has faced a metatarsal injury and still is very long away from playing matches. Yoro is only 18 years old and is considered as future for United. Hence the Red Devils won’t take a risk and wait for him till he gets fully fit.
Why Leny Yoro joining United has became threat to Arsenal?
Yoro was being chased by Real Madrid before he opted to join United this summer. Madrid were looking at him as their potential next superstar. The Spanish giants are in desperate need of a defender.
As Yoro is now out of reach, Madrid have started looking at other options. According to Le10Sport, Los Blancos have now made William Saliba their top target. Saliba who is only 23 years old is viewed by Arsenal as their long term defender.
Gunners will do everything in their power to keep Saliba at North London. But it will also depend what Saliba thinks about the interest from European Champions. None of this would have had happened if Yoro didn’t join United this summer.
Madrid are in desperate need to sign a defender. Eder Militao and David Alaba are still out injured. Carlo Ancelotti was once seen using Dani Carvajal as a centre back who is also injured now. They will view adding Saliba to their squad as an upgrade to their defensive line.
On the other hand, Arsenal fans are confident that Saliba will stay with them. They still have to end the long drought of Premier League title and maidan UCL title. A lot will depend on what the both clubs think along with what Saliba has to say about the situation.
