Victor Osimhen linked with Arsenal once again

Arsenal are in search of a new striker from a very long time. They want to replace Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. Their main aim is to increase the number of goals scored. Gunners were linked with many strikers in recent time. However, no deal has been advanced as per now. Some top names like Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko were linked with a move to Arsenal.

Arsenal want to win the Premier League title in 2024/25 season. Mikel Arteta wants to make his current squad strong. They have signed David Raya on permanent basis. Recently, they announced the signing of Riccardo Calafiori. Now the goalkeeper and left back position is sorted. Arsenal can now focus on signing a new midfielder and a striker. They are also thinking about signing a right winger.

Benjamin Sesko was the top target for Arsenal. However they failed to complete the signing as Sesko signed contract extension with RB Leipzig. Viktor Gyokeres had a very good season with Sporting CP. Gunners made a move for him, but his release clause became too hard for them to trigger. Similar was the case with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. Osimhen has around €130 million release clause in his current contract. Napoli failed to qualify for any European tournament next year. As a result €100 million striker according to Transfermarkt, wants to leave.

Napoli prepared to sell Osimhen

Napoli have made Antonio Conte their new manager after a bad season. Conte wants to sign his former player Romelu Lukaku. Chelsea are prepared to part ways with Lukaku. Moreover, Lukaku spent the last season on a loan to Inter Milan. Besides, Conte and Lukaku have worked together and helped Inter to win the Serie A title.

Conte wants Lukaku which will make path of Osimhen to leave easy. Osimhen has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Arsenal. Before some time, Osimhen told the radio channel in Italy that he is ready to move to England. London rivals will like to add him to their current squad to improve their goalscoring tally.

Arsenal may go for Osimhen

Firstly, Arsenal wanted to sign Nico Williams after his performances in Euro 2024. However, they are very behind in the race to sign him. FC Barcelona are leading the race, while Athletic Bilbao are sure that Williams will stay with them. Gunners need to focus on available options as the last month of transfer window has started.

Gunners may now go after their old target Osimhen once again. However his release clause will still remain as a problem. However, Arsenal are also linked with some away moves. Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson all are very close to exit. Their sale could lift the position of Arsenal in signing new stars. Gabriel Jesus is the current main striker but has been very poor last season. Jesus was able to score only 4 goals in Premier League. His partner Nketiah, scored only 5 causing a big problem for Gunners.

On the other hand, Osimhen is very good in front of the goal. He missed many matches last season due to injury. However, he was still able to score 15 goals. A year ago, he was very good when he helped Napoli to win the Serie A title. Osimhen scored 26 goals in 32 matches in the 2022/23 season. Arsenal could get a high-quality striker if they are able to pay the demanded price. However, they will also face high competition from their London rivals. Chelsea had a similar situation as Arsenal last season in case of striker.
