Temporary Unemployed Football Agents

Viktor Gyokeres has become one of the most sought-after players in the footballing world. There are some prominent clubs that are looking to make a deal with the Swedish center-forward. Arsenal is among the top contenders to sign the talent.

This interest has recently spiked after Gyokeres’ performance against Manchester City in the Champions League. The forward scored a fabulous hattrick against the current Premier League title holders. This game was not short of entertainment as Sporting CP came out on top against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Ruben Amorim is already on the road to lead Manchester United by the end of this year. The Red Devils have appointed Amorim as the new head coach. This decision was made after Erik Ten Hag was sacked by the club.

The appointment of Ruben Amorim as the head coach is good news for Manchester United fans. They will be confident enough to face their derby rivals Manchester City. The Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres has also been heavily linked to a move to Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

There is still no concrete information if Viktor will part ways with the Portuguese club. Sporting CP initially had a 100 million euro transfer clause for the forward. This deal has been fluctuating recently after Gyokeres’s performance across different competitions.

Will Viktor make a move in the next transfer window?

There are plenty of clubs that are willing to splurge big money on Gyokeres. The Swedish is under the radar of teams like Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal. It is yet to be decided where Gyokeres will make his final move.

Sporting CP acquired the striker from Coventry in 2023 for a price tag of 20 million euros. The current market price for Gyokeres is almost four times from the 2023 season. This pricing is justified as he has been key in Sporting’s title wins last season.

He has scored 60 goals in 67 appearances for Sporting CP in Liga Portugal. These stats made him the top scorer of the league in the 2023 season. Gyokeres has continued his form in the 2024-2025 season. The striker has scored 23 goals this campaign.

Sporting CP would not like to part ways with the Swede as he has been their main man last and this season. According to the reports of Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, there are strong hints that the Swede will not part ways with Sporting CP.

Ruben Amorim who has coached Viktor has said that there is still time before the youngster leaves Sporting. In the post-match interview after the Champions League match of Manchester City vs Sporting CP, the manager said-

“Viktor has to stay until the end of the season, and then maybe his life maybe is going somewhere else”.

The Red Devils might opt to convince their manager to make a move for Gyokeres in the next transfer window. There are many more clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid that are keeping close track of the progress of the striker.

Real Madrid’s interest in Gyokeres

The Sporting striker has been the teal of the town this season. He has already scored 23 goals in 15 appearances across all competitions. It is no surprise that footballing giants like Real Madrid have shown their interest in Viktor.

Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara believes that the Los Blancos should consider making a move on the Sporting striker. Kylian Mbappe who joined Real Madrid’s Galacticos 2.0 has not been very impressive so far.

There are less chances that Spanish giants will make a move for the Swede. They will want to give Mbappe more time to settle in this new environment. The French forward is a World Cup winner and will one day click with Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

The January transfer window is just two months away and it will be interesting to see which team Viktor chooses as his final destination. Manchester United is most likely the team but Arsenal are in close contention to sign Gyokeres because they too have a big purse.
