According to Football Insider, Manchester United are nearing an agreement with Sporting CP for Viktor Gyokeres. Utd sources tell that they believe the move is almost complete. The Red Devils have done a great work behind the scenes over the previous weeks.
Since Ruben Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford, the Swede is the club’s top target. Their strong bond from their Sporting CP days is playing a major role. United have struggled so far this season. However, they will be playing the UCL next season if they win the Europa League this term.
The Swede has just scored 4 goals in his last match for the Portuguese club. So far he has managed to score 52 goals and gave 12 assists in 48 matches this season. He has made it clear that he wants to join Utd.
Additionally, he is willing to join even if they miss out on Europe’s biggest stage. Amorim is eager to bring in a top striker this June. The news of Viktor’s arrival looks set to signal the start of a busy summer at Old Trafford next season.
