West Bromwich Albion 1-1 Manchester United post-match analysis:
Straightway West Brom scored on the 2nd-minute mark. A gentle cross came from the right and Diagne was too strong for Victor Lindelof to handle and Diagne’s head went into the back of the net. The Baggies had another chance but Robert Snodgrass’ head was saved by David De Gea.
Manchester United got their equaliser late in the first half, a super Luke Shaw cross put away brilliantly off the weaker foot by Fernandes. He was kept quiet by Allardyce’s tactics before that occasion.
Manchester United intensified the pressure on the Baggies defence but they could not find any opening other than a few dangerous crosses from Marcus Rashford. United had a great opportunity to score but Mason Greenwood’s effort brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and follow-up shot from Scott McTominay cleared off the goal line.
West Brom had two best chances to win the game but Diagne could not find the goal. On the first occasion, De Gea was the saviour for the Red Devils and in the second situation, he could not keep it on target. Manchester United almost scored a late goal but Harry Maguire’s effort came off the post and went wide.
Bruno Fernandes(CAM) – (7/10)(Manchester United): He was not at his sublime best but scored a world-class goal to get his team one point.
Mbaye Diagne(CF) – (7/10)(Manchester United): He gave huge problems for the Manchester United defensive pair. He bullied both Manchester United centre backs and scored the opener, also he should have scored a hat trick.
Victor Lindelof(CB) – (5/10)(Manchester United): Diagne bullied him time and time again in the game he looked bad in this game and the United defence looked shaky as well.
