West Ham are keen on making their squad stronger for the next premier league season. They recently part ways with David Moyes after 7 years. Hammers appointed Julen Lopetegui as their new manager and are keen on making huge progress under him.
They have been linked to numerous players in the transfer window. The recent link has been with Southampton’s Kyle walker-Peter. They have been in the market for a right back to improve their defense. There were also links of West Ham going after Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
West Ham are linked to Kyle Walker-Peters
The sky sport reporter Dharmesh Sheth revealed that the Hammers have an edge in this deal as Kyle Walker-Peter in in his last year of the deal with Southampton. Although there is still a gap in the valuation of the player by the clubs.
With a new manager, and the departure of Ben Johnson on a free transfer, West Ham are keen on improving that side of the defense. Johnson agreed a deal with Ipswich town who are returning to Premier league after 22 years. He left West Ham after making 109 appearances for his boyhood club.
Currently, right-back is a top priority for West Ham United and they are looking close to completing deal with Wolves for Max Kilman. Their improved offer was finally accepted by Wolves. Lopetegui will once again reunite with the player as he managed him last season at Wolverhampton in which they finished 13th in the league.
Recent updates on the transfer plans for the Hammers
Current West Ham player Vladimir Coufal is also determined to impress West Ham and Lopetegui despite their search of a new right back. Dharmesh Sheth revealed. ” Right-back is surely a priority for West Ham this season. Ben Johnson has left them on a free transfer and has joined Ipswich town. “
“Vladimir Coufal is surely still at the club, and he is determined to impress the team and the manager. Although they would still look for a recruitment in that area. They have been linked to both Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Kyle Walker-Peters.”
“Initial talks revealed that there is a valuation gap between the players but Southampton have to keep in mind that Kyle is in his last year of the contract.”
Not only West Ham but several other premier league clubs are also interested in the right back. Tottenham have recently shown interest in the defender. They are considering resigning the player as a backup option for Pedro Porro.
Spurs sold Kyle walker to Southampton in 2020 and now they see him as a good cheap backup option in the squad. He can also add himself to the list of home-grown players in the squad. Some inside West Ham source revealed that Saints value Kyle Walker at between £15-20m. Fabrizio Romano also revealed that Brighton fc are also interested to sign the player.
Already one signing done by the Hammers
For now, West Ham are planning to announce the signing of the defender Max Kilman from Wolves. Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the deal is already done, and official announcement is imminent. Kilman is set to reunite with Lopetegui even after becoming the captain of Wolves last season. He is leaving the club after making 151 appearances for them.
Their first offer was rejected by Wolves but the revised offer of £40 million was too good for Wolves to reject. That transfer amount was enough to convince Wolves to let go of their reliable defender and their captain Max Kilman.
It would be interesting to see how much West Ham will improve their squad in this transfer window and what can they do under the new manager.
