West Ham join Chelsea in race to sign Liverpool star

West Ham United have joined Chelsea in the race to sign Liverpool star this summer. The player is open for a move due to lack of chances to play the Anfield.

The star in question here is Caoimhin Kelleher who is backup keeper of Liverpool. He has came through Liverpool’s academy and has established himself as a key part since breaking into the first team. He has so far played 67 games for the Reds.

Kelleher has performed really well in the absence of Allison. But, he is still not looked as a first-choice keeper. In addition, the Reds are set to replace Allison with Mamardshvili who will join the club this summer.

Kelleher is now 26 years old and wants to play regularly. Hence, he is open to move away this summer. He is looked upon by Chelsea who can be seen signing a new keeper this summer. Now, the Blues are joined by another English giants.

West Ham United join the race for Kelleher

According to the Mirror, West Ham have joined the race for Caoimhin Kelleher. Hammers have experienced a tough season so far and hence many changes will be made this summer. A new keeper is amongst the top priorities of the club.

Chelsea are willing to move-on from Robert Sanchez. The Spaniard has not been able to impress and has made multiple mistakes. In addition, Filip Jorgensen is still very young and lacks experience at top level. Hence, a new keeper is said to be one of the top priorities of the club.

Kelleher can be a great addition for both Chelsea or West Ham. He will prefer to join a club where he will be made a first-choice keeper. In addition, he may prefer to join a club playing in European competition. This may give the Blues lead in the race over Hammers.
