West Ham United are keen to sign 2 Chelsea midfielders this month. Both of the Chelsea stars are struggling with proper game time this season. This will allow Hammers to sign them but the Blues will demand a fair price.
Due to the vast squad depth of Chelsea, many stars have not been able to play regularly. This has made them unhappy and hence are forcing a move away from Stamford Bridge.
The Blues will not be very active in signing new players this months. But, they can be very active in terms of selling the existing players. This will help them in opening space for new stars and more importantly to comply with PSR.
West Ham keen to sign 2 Chelsea stars
The Chelsea stars in question here are Carney Chukwuemeka and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. According to Matt Law, Hammers are showing interest in these two stars which are constantly being linked with Chelsea exit.
Chukwuemeka (21) has played only 5 matches this season. In addition, he is yet to play any Premier League game and has played only 131 minutes of football across all competitions. He is also being looked upon by Serie A club Napoli.
On the other hand, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (26) joined the Blues in summer. He followed the path of then Leicester manager Enzo Maresca. However, he is way behind in pecking order and struggling for game time.
The Blues do have other very good options in midfield. In addition, Romeo Lavia is also fit now and hence Enzo Maresca is well covered in the midfield department. This suggests they may agree to part ways with both Chukwuemeka and Dewsbury-Hall.
Lastly along with these 2 midfielders, Cesare Casadei is also being linked with exit. The Italian is heavily linked with Serie A side Torino. Chelsea have already received offer from Torino to sign Casadei this month.
