Mikel Arteta will be without William Saliba and will need to make some key changes in Arsenal defence. Take a loot at how can he alter the defensive line to get best result possible against Liverpool.

Arsenal are set to take on Liverpool at The Emirates. William Saliba will miss the match due to suspension. He got a red card againste Bournemouth which made him unavailable for the next Premier League match.

Later in the UCL fixture, new signing Riccardo Calafiori face injury. He was looking in visible pain and is doubtful to face The Reds. This has increased Arteta’s worries and now he needs to come up with masterplan to stop the table toppers.

How can Arteta alter the Arsenal defence?

The first thing Arteta can do is to hope that both Calafiori and Timber are fit to play. He can use Italian as a centre back whereas Timber can play as a left back. This is the best thing Arteta can come up without William Saliba. But, the both players are still in doubts.

Recently, Timber and Saka were spotted with Arsenal squad. But, there is still no news available about Calafiori. Arteta did say earlier that they will try their best to make all three players available on sunday. You can take a look at what Arteta said on the Official Arsenal Website.

The second thing Arteta can do is play Jakub Kiwior as centre back and Oleksandr Zinchenko as left back. Although Arsenal fans will not prefer this lineup, they maybe out of options. They can only hope that these two have game of their life and help Gunners secure points.

The last thing Arteta can do is to enter the match with defensive mindset and park the bus. He can also play with 5 defenders which Arsenal fans will hate to see at their home. But, this plan can still workout and hopefully provide Arsenal a chance to secure atleast one point.
