Top clubs were keen on signing the world-class forward. Arsenal and PSG were also in the race for signing the Nigerian star. But, PSG never really made a serious offer. Meanwhile, the Gunners could also not make proper contact for him. Saudi club Al-Ahli also came close to signing the striker. But, they were out of the picture once Ivan Toney ended up joining them. So, the path was all clear for the Blues to sign the 25-year-old. But, somehow, the transfer still did not go through.

Enzo Maresca was keen to sign a proper quality striker for his side. Nicolas Jackson was good in his first season for the club. But, he still has a long way to go and lacks experience. A quality forward would have really improved the Blues’ squad depth. Victor Osimhen could have been the perfect fit for Chelsea. Following Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, Maresca shed some light onto why the Blues couldn’t sign the striker. Football-italia.net reveals Maresca saying:
“We want players but we want players that we decide and then the condition has to be our condition. So if the players are not here, then that means the conditions were not good for us“.

Where will the Nigerian play next?
Antonio Conte has made it pretty clear that the 25-year-old won’t be a part of Napoli’s first-team. As a result, the striker will have to look for a move away. Else, he will be stuck off-the-field in Italy. As per the latest update, the Nigerian star has some interest from Turkiye. Galatasaray are looking to make a loan deal for the Napoli man. Perhaps if Victor Osimhen checked his demands a little, he could have been playing at the top level with Chelsea. But, as of now, a move to Turkiye seems on the horizon for him.
