Nagpur’s Amma FC thrashes Next Sports Academy, Palghar by 5-0

Amma FC, Nagpur enjoyed an easy victory against the inexperienced Next Sports Academy by 5-0. This match was the opening match of the Western India Football Association (WIFA) Women’s Football League played at the Cooperage Ground.

This league acts as the qualifying league for AIFF Women’s Football League. Nagpur side thrashed Next sports academy and started the tournament with a bang. With the restriction being imposed last month in Nagpur, players hardly have any practice sessions together.

Coming from the substitution Nagpur’s Nikita Shinde scored a brace while Nidhi Verma, Punam Kumari, and Annie Anthony scored one goal each. The team looked satisfied by their performance.

Amma FC were dominant right from the beginning of the first half. In the fourth minute of the match, Amma FC’s ace striker Nidhi Verma scored the first goal of the match and right from their Next Sports Academy lost their composure and went on conceding the second goal in 17th minute scored by Annie Anthony and the third goal in the 41st minute and within no time Next Sports Academy were trailing by 3 goals in the first half.

After halftime, Sports Academy was looking as a much-improved side and defended well but, Amma FC slammed 2 goals. Both were scored by the substitute Nikita Shinde in the 79th and 85th minutes to increase the margin of victory.

Earlier in the match Between Mumbai Outfits, Kenkre FC, and Indian Rush. Kenkre defeated Indian Rush by 3-1 thanks to Harshika Jain’s brace which came in the 7th and 66th minutes which sealed the match for Kenkre Fc.
