Premier League side Wolves enter the race to sign Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen in January.
Christian Eriksen signed for Inter Milan just a year ago from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window for €20 million as his contract remained only 6 months.
But after a few times, Antonio Conte didn’t fancy him giving playtime. Eriksen’s playing style doesn’t match Conte’s style of football which is very demanding and high pressing.
As it stands Inter Milan said they are willing to sell Eriksen in this January transfer window. Who is completely out of favour at Inter? Eriksen was one of the best attacking-midfielder just 18 months ago but his move to the Nerazzurri was a disaster.
A MOVE TO WOLVES ON THE BOOKS FOR ERIKSEN?
Now few teams are getting linked with him. PSG entered the race because of the new appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as the manager. Eriksen’s former side Ajax is also linked with him.
Also, other Premier League clubs are getting linked with him. The likes of Manchester United who were interested in him before his move to Inter Milan. But now it looks unlikely as United already got Bruno Fernandes, Van De Beek, and Pogba. His profile doesn’t match Manchester United’s vision under Ole Gunner Solskjaer either.
Another Premier League club linked with Eriksen was Arsenal. The Gooners desperately need a creative midfielder and they are looking around Europe to sign attacking-midfielder. They struggled to score and create for their forward players.
So, if this transfer happens then it will make a lot of sense. But as a former Tottenham Hotspur player, it may be unlikely that he chose Arsenal as his next destination.
Now a few reports are suggesting that Wolverhampton Wanderers have also entered the race to sign Christian Eriksen from Inter Milan. Wolves manager started to play 4-2-3-1 formation this season and it requires a number 10 to play in this formation.
So this transfer would make a lot of sense if it happens in the end. But Eriksen would want to play in a much elite team than Wolves so it will be interesting to see what will Eriksen chooses in this transfer window.
Inter would want at least €30-40 million for him as he has three and a half more years left on his contract and they would not want to take a loss as they paid €20 million just a year ago.
