According to journalist Alex Silvestre, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Valencia forward Goncalo Guedes. Wolves want to bolster their attack this season following which they are offering €25-30 million to Valencia for Guedes.

Guedes started his journey with Portuguese club Benfica back in 2009 and played 68 times for the first team. In 2017, he opted for a move to French giants Paris-Saint Germain. But after only 17 appearances in 7 months, he was sent on a loan to Valencia. After completing the loan deal Valencia signed Guedes permanently in 2018 for the club’s record fee of €40 million.

And since then he has been a mainstay at the upfront for Valencia scoring 23 goals and 24 assists in all competitions. But this summer his time in Spain might end with the interest from the Premier League. Wolves have been a long-time admirer of Guedes as they wanted to sign him back in 2018. But failed as Valencia emerged as a top destination for the Portuguese forward. However, they are back this summer to make deal with the Spanish team for Guedes.

As per the report, Wolves are willing to offer €25-30 million in order to swoop Guedes from Valencia. Despite, Valencia wanting to keep the Portuguese at the club it would be wise to let him go in order to balance the books. However, an official negotiation is yet to happen between the clubs but the deal may happen because of Jorge Mendes. Mendes is the agent of Guedes who has a good relationship with both Wolves and Valencia.

If Guedes successfully lands at Wolves then he will be reunited with his former Benfica manager Bruno Lage. Lage is happy with the idea of reuniting with his former player and use him to his full potential. So, let’s wait and see what the future holds for Goncalo Guedes.
