All about the Press Conference of Xavi

The match between Barcelona and Levante was breathtaking and Luuk de Jong’s 93rd-minute strike was the winner. Meanwhile, Levante was handed three penalties by the referee and they converted two of them. On the other hand, Barcelona equalized through Aubameyang’s goal. Barcelona’s young stars Pedri and Gavi were introduced in the second half and combined to give Barcelona the lead. Levante soon received their third penalty of the game and scored from the spot. The game was level and Levante was happy with a point. But, Dutch striker Luuk de Jong had some other plans. He scored a 93rd-minute goal for Barcelona and gave them all three points.

The game was shifted in Barcelona’s favor after the introduction of Pedri. He played a crucial role in Barcelona’s goals and also scored one. After the match, Xavi was asked about their dependency on Pedri.

He said:

“I wouldn’t go that far, he is an extraordinary player, I won’t skimp on singing his praises, he is a player that excites and makes the difference. Today, Gavi helped too… We tell the players to be prepared to add something, whether they play more minutes or less.”

He also praised Luuk de Jong. He said:

“Luuk is a great option, I would not say he’s playing a secondary role. I am happy because he’s an example for everyone, how he trains, his professionalism. That’s why we have these types of players.”

Barcelona is currently 12 points behind Real Madrid and is second in the table. With just 8 games left to play, this season’s title race seems to be over. But, the good part is that “Xavi Ball” is taking shape and Barcelona will surely make a comeback next season to haunt Real Madrid.
