Xavi Simons is a Summer Target for Man Utd

Xavi Simons is being watched by Manchester United for the June transfer window.

Man United Keen on Xavi Simons

Manchester United are looking to make a huge move on Dutch playmaker Xavi Simons.

The 21-year-old RB Leipzig star has sparked interest of a number of European giants. Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Liverpool are also keeping tabs on him.

United however have kept close talks. And consider the Netherlands international to be perfect for their new boss Ruben Amorim’s way of playing. His abilities across attacking midfield roles, combined with his age and potential, makes him a potential target.

He could now be sold for a profit by the German side. And United are keen to strike before the competition heats up. But signing him won’t come easy.

And Utd’s ability to seal the deal could depend on playing Champions League football for next campaign.

Champions League Push Key to Transfer Plans

Amorim has multiple names on his summer wishlist, but most of them carry heavy price tags.

Alongside Xavi, United are looking at options like Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, and Antoine Semenyo. All of these players would cost around £60 million. The club is also chasing Ipswich striker Liam Delap. He might be available for £30 million if his side gets relegated.

To fund such big moves, the Red Devils will need to win the Europa League. In addition, they have to lock in European football as well. The second-leg of the tie against Lyon at Old Trafford is their biggest game of the season

Therefore the Man United will also be hopeful of bringing some money in by selling players. Stars like Antony, Jadon Sancho, and maybe even Marcus Rashford could be in the market this summer.

But nothing is official, and with question marks over sales and budget.

If Utd get it done, the road could be clear for Xavi Simons to light up Old Trafford next season.
