Zinedine Zidane to replace Andrea Pirlo at Juventus?

Zinedine Zidane is reportedly set to replace Andrea Pirlo at Juventus. Pirlo hasn’t been successful in the Italian club’s title defence and is currently at 3rd place in the Serie A, ten points behind current leaders, Inter Milan.

The Turin club even got knocked out by FC Porto in the Champions League this season. They haven’t been up to the mark. Pirlo replaced Maurizio Sarri, who was successful in winning the Italian league.

Zidane is currently leading the list to be the next manager. However, the French coach has been enjoying a decent run of form for his current club, Real Madrid.

Juventus looking towards Zidane as Pirlo faces the heat

Andrea Pirlo made a surprise comeback to his club where he prevailed as an exceptional midfielder. But, it seems his new role hasn’t adapted much to the Italian league.

“I don’t know why Sarri was removed. I am the coach of Juventus, I was brought in for a more ample approach, a project that was always meant to develop over several years, so I am not concerned. We spoke about the future, he (Agnelli) told me the project has just begun.” – Pirlo to Football Italia.

The board also has shown him support publicly but what goes on beyond closed doors can’t be known or predicted by anyone.

“We committed to a project with Andrea, knowing that there would be difficulties. We wanted to do better than this and haven’t managed to, but difficulties were predicted. We’re very calm. We’re on the path that we wanted, which we will stay on. He has everything to become a great coach.” – Pavel Nedved.

Although the former Real Madrid midfielder’s contract is till 2022, his future in Spain is still uncertain. He has won three Champions League trophies, two Super Cups, two La Liga, two FIFA Club World Cups as well as two Spanish Super Cups as a manager.

If Didier Deschamps decides to leave the role of French National Team coach, Zidane can be his successor.
