Bruno Fernandes is Proud of Manchester United’ Approach to their Games

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Manchester United started the year with a win over a high-flying Aston Villa after Bruno Fernandes scored a penalty in the 62nd minute. After the win in what was an evenly poised match, they now move up to 2nd, on level points with the Premier League leaders, Liverpool.

It is something to be proud of for the Red Devils as they have improved incredibly. This time, last year, they were 27 points behind the leaders. This year, they are level on points with Liverpool and are threatening to take the trophy off the leaders. They have 33 points in 16 matches, with goal difference separating them from the top.

Manchester United have come back strong after the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal. Since then, they have not lost any of their previous 10 Premier League matches. They have won 8 out of the 10.

BRUNO BELIEVES IN THE PATH UNITED ARE GOING:

The win on Saturday was a decisive one as United could move closer to the struggling Liverpool. The match was evenly distributed among both the teams with plenty of chances falling in their way.

Anthony Martial scored the opener in the first half by brilliantly heading off Aaron Wan-Bissaka‘s cross.  Bertrand Traore equalized in the second-half off Jack Grealish‘s cross to hand the visitors the equalizer.

It was the Portuguese Magnifico’ penalty that claimed to be decisive as the scoreline remained 2-1 till the full-time whistle.

“I think we are building something importantWe know that. The most important for us is building a team. Building a group of players who take care of each other.

“Today it was Eric (Bailly making a stoppage-time block) before it was David (De Gea) saving that ball, in other situations other players, but the main thing is the group has to be together.

“As I sit in the stands in the last two or three minutes, everyone is shouting and hoping to not concede a goal and to take care of the ball. Everyone wants the three points, everyone wants that win and this is what it’s about. We have to build this more and more.

Bruno Fernandes was also all praises for his fellow teammate who had made a great impact. The penalty that Bruno converted was won by Paul Pogba.

BRUNO FERNANDES LEADS THE WAY:

Manchester United was initially going to buy Bruno Fernandes in the previous summer window. Thanks to Ed Woodward, that was not happening, and Bruno was on the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur.

The outcomes could have been multiple. Bruno joining Tottenham would see United’s struggling as usual while Spurs challenge for the title. If United had purchased him in the summer, maybe they could have challenged Liverpool last season. Well, no use of thinking what might have happened.

After joining in January, the midfielder had a sudden impact on the team. He won 2 Premier League Player of the Month award in a row. 50% of United’s equivalent award is also won by him. A stunning stat shows that United are the best team in the Premier League since his arrival.

He has been involved in 33 goals in 30 appearances (19 goals + 14 assists). With the New Year only started, a lot can be expected from the player as well as the team with the title race now anyone’s to grab.
